Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood: Christmas, Season 10 (1984)

If you watch this clip on YouTube you’ll see plenty of comments about how this was when Saturday Night Live “was actually funny” or how “I wish this Eddie Murphy would come back.” And while those kind of comments are mostly ignored by fans, there is no denying that Eddie Murphy was one of a kind.

Murphy portrayed his spoof of Mr. Rogers nine times during his tenure on the show, making it one of his signature characters. And any time a beloved recurring character gets a Christmas sketch, it has to be up for consideration on a list like this.

This has a good combination of punchlines as well as Murphy’s facial expressions that he always displayed when someone knocked on his door. Mr. Robinson’s Christmas experience may not be like a lot of other people’s but then again, there is only one Mr. Robinson and only one Eddie Murphy.
