With reports suggesting that walls are closing in on President Donald Trump, Seth Meyers took a closer look at how we could have seen this coming.

Headlines related to President Donald Trump’s administration and his private affairs are coming out at an alarming rate in recent weeks. It can be difficult to stay on top of everything and then to even comprehend the implications and ramifications. Thankfully Seth Meyers does his best to examine it all for his viewers.

“A Closer Look” has always been a popular segment on Late Night with Seth Meyers. But the pieces have been getting more and more attention and views as more and more attention is given to the crimes and allegations against Team Trump.

Just recently, Meyers has taken a closer look at a variety of topics. There was implications against Trump for campaign finance violations, Trump’s weird lies about forest management in Finland, and then Trump’s response to the mail bomb scare.

Now with a staggering 17 investigations open against a number of entities associated with Trump, such as his charity, campaign, and inauguration committee, Meyers was ready to take a closer look at how things seem to be collapsing around the president.

If you were uncertain what exactly was going on with the investigation into the Trump Foundation, then Meyers probably cleared it up for you: “Trump used his charity to pay for his lawsuits which then prompted a lawsuit that ended the charity.” Got it?

The misuse of a charity would typically be enough to derail a political career. But remember, there are 16 other investigations we’re talking about here. Meyers could have dedicated the entire 11 minute block to just the charity but he had to move on to all things Russia.

After talking about the Michael Flynn sentencing, Meyers move on to Trump’s favorite topic in the border wall. Things haven’t looked good for the wall especially after the clash between Trump and top democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. As Meyers explains, the wall is amounting to another empty promise from the president that he’ll look to shift the blame for off himself.

It is pretty unbelievable that President Trump thought he could run the White House the way he ran his businesses. While that analogy may sound practical to voters, it doesn’t work when the businessman they elect is one who routinely violated laws and ran scams to cover his failures. Somehow Trump and his administration were convinced that nobody would be taking a closer look at things when he was running the country. If Seth Meyers is pointing these things out, you can only imagine what the people behind the 17 investigations are noticing.
