Is Saturday Night Live new for tonight, Dec. 1?
By Matt Moore
Saturday Night Live took a break to celebrate Thanksgiving but will it be back this week for a new episode?
It is a busy and stressful time of year. That is true whether you are planning a trip, looking to start your holiday shopping, or running a late night sketch comedy show. Saturday Night Live certainly is impacted by the holidays same as we are.
That means that last week the show was off to let the cast and crew enjoy Thanksgiving. It also meant that we could revisit some of the best Thanksgiving sketches in the show’s history. But when we settle down on a Saturday night and turn on the television, we want to see something new.
It has been harder to predict or understand Saturday Night Live‘s schedule this year. Things started off with three straight episodes and then there was a break. Then there were three more episodes, most recently hosted by Steve Carell. That brought us to the aforementioned Thanksgiving break and now we’re here at the start of December.
The month should get off to a laughing start. Saturday Night Live will be new on Dec. 1. Claire Foy of The Crown and The Girl in the Spider’s Web will be the host. The musical guest will be Anderson .Paak.
Foy’s episode will kick off another three week stretch of new episodes. She will be followed by Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, fulfilling a childhood dream, and Brett Kavanaugh-impersonator Matt Damon as hosts.
