Adam Sandler has your last minute Halloween costume ideas
By Matt Moore
Adam Sandler’s stint on Saturday Night Live may have been brief but his advice on Halloween costumes is just as useful as ever.
Halloween costumes tend to fall into one of two categories. There are the high-effort ones that are elaborate, typically expensive, but ultimately become the highlight of any party. Then there are the lower-effort ones. They are worn by those who are more worried about the “party” part of a Halloween party.
Coming up with those quick, cost-effective costumes can be difficult. If you are in that spot you may be getting a little worried right about now. Thankfully, Adam Sandler recognized this problem years ago. His tenure on Saturday Night Live did not result in too many memorable characters. But he did some of his best work as a guest on Weekend Update.
There was the character Opera Man that a lot of people enjoyed. However, Sandler was at the top of his game when he was just being Sandler. Case in point are these clips in which he offers up some last minute Halloween costumes:
You really have to be willing to play up the “crazy” angle to pull off such costumes as Crazy Big Eyed Man, Crazy Newspaper Face, or even Crazy Teabag Mouth. But my personal favorite remains Squishy Face. It is a timeless classic that anyone can pull off regardless of their face.
If you decide to go with any of Adam Sandler’s above suggestions, the best of luck to you. You may not win any costume contests. You may get some strange looks if, say, your shoe is next to your head all night. But you will probably find the other die-hard Saturday Night Live fans at the party. Have a crazy time if you do!
