Jimmy Kimmel sends Guillermo out to the ballpark

Guillermo may be one of the most underappreciated people in late night. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! parking lot security guard has been turned into a bonafide personality as Kimmel’s sidekick. He doesn’t have the comedy background of an Andy Ricther or Steve Higgins. He also didn’t have the stage presence that comes with being a bad leader.

Despite this, or more likely because of it,  Kimmel continually uses Guillermo in sketches. But it is his remote work that really makes Guillermo valuable. He seems willing to go anywhere and ask anything regardless of whether it is a red carpet or sporting event.

The NBA Finals and Super Bowl media day are where Guillermo has been at his best. That has more to do with the overall circus of those events compared to Major League Baseball and the World Series. Still, Guillermo was able to make the most of his visit with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs during the National League Championship Series in 2016.

Give credit to Guillermo for hitting as many innuendos as he could on the baseball field without overkill. The comedy here is much different than the intentionally cringe-inducing awkwardness of when Kimmel sent his father to interview the Dodgers in 2017.
