Dana White recaps his three-hour dinner with Donald Trump
By Matt Moore
UFC president Dana White was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live and offered a behind the scenes look at his White House dinner with President Donald Trump.
Dana White has not been shy about discussing his relationship with President Donald Trump. White delivered a speech for Trump at the 2016 Republican National Convention and he recently explained why he is loyal to Trump during an appearance on OBJECTified:
"I’m never going to say anything bad about Donald Trump — ever. Ever, ever, ever. That guy gave us our start when nobody would talk to us. No arenas wanted us. This guy reached out, and he’s always been a friend to me. The guy’s always been a friend of me. Donald Trump has never done anything remotely negative to me ever — except try to compete with me. I’m not going to say anything negative about him and I never have."
White’s support of the president resulted in an invitation to the White House residency and a dinner with Trump that lasted three hours. As expected, White had nothing but positive things to say when he visited Jimmy Kimmel:
The UFC head didn’t bite when Kimmel took his customary shots at the president and his sons. Kimmel has made plenty of Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump’s hobby of trophy hunting. The late night host also has running jokes about the president’s love of KFC chicken buckets, Doritos and other junk food but according to White, the meal was a little more sophisticated.
White, who couldn’t quite recall exactly what it was they ate, joins a long list of interesting celebrities that have been Trump’s White House guests including Kim Kardashian, Kid Rock, and Ted Nugent. Also on that list is actor Sylvester Stallone which was undoubtedly brought up during White and Trump’s talk of the best Rocky movie. Kimmel missed White’s setup about Trump’s love of the Russian-heavy Rocky IV. Let’s hope he was confused in saying it was the worst of the franchise. Is he forgetting Rocky V and Rocky Balboa? Trump may be first in line to see Creed II and the return of Ivan Drago.
Dana White was on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote UFC 229 on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight will be headlined by Conor McGregor taking on Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight championship.
