Stephen Colbert invited Melania Trump (really impersonator Laura Benanti) onto The Late Show to respond to Omarosa’s allegations about her marriage.

Melania Trump – the fake Melania Trump, that is – is back on The Late Show!

Last night on the program, host Stephen Colbert spoke about the new Unhinged books written by Omarosa. We have an idea about all of the bombshells she drops about her former pal Donald Trump. But among the revelations to come from its pages, it is said that Donald and Melania do not have a healthy marriage at all, and are in fact miserable with the facade. It is Omarosa’s prediction that Melania will file for divorce the minute Trump gets out of office.

To respond to this, Colbert had Melania Trump impersonator Laura Benanti join the show “via satellite.” A dead ringer for Melania, you could almost swear it’s really the First Lady in the video. And Colbert proceeds to ask “Melania” about the rumors about her marriage and her husband, and Mrs. Trump has some trouble hiding her disdain.

During their chat, Colbert brings up the time Donald Trump bashed LeBron James, only for Melania to then tweet a statement of support for LeBron. Colbert commends her for supporting James for opening a school for at risk kids. Melania corrects Trump, saying James is only inspiring to her because he “shows it’s never too late to leave home and sign with another team.”

Laura Benanti has portrayed Melania many times on The Late Show before, but she’s just as amazing each time. Indeed, these are some of the funniest bits to come out of the show as a result of Donald Trump’s time in the White House.
