Stephen Colbert revealed on The Late Show that during a recent golf game with a Senator, Donald Trump suggested firing Robert Mueller 20 times (!).

I think he’s got the message, Donald…

There’s a lot of debate over what President Donald Trump has done or hasn’t done during his time in office. One thing that’s undeniable, however, is his penchant for going golfing. Although Trump would often criticize Barack Obama for playing golf not so long ago, Trump himself seems to be spending much more time on the green than in the Oval Office.

But what does Trump actually talk about during these frequent golf games? Well, as Stephen Colbert revealed on The Late Show, at a recent game with Senator Lindsey Graham, the hot button topic for Trump was Robert Mueller. As we all know, Mueller has been grilling Trump and his buddies relating to the Trump administration’s collusion with Russia. Considering how quickly Trump has fired other people, it’s strange he hasn’t fired Mueller yet, but apparently, it’s not for lack of trying!

According to Graham, Trump floated the idea of ending the Russia probe to him (i.e., firing Mueller) about 20 times… during one game! Colbert jokes about how someone who asks a question that many times expecting a different answer is a good definition of a “very stable genius.” Of course, the late night host takes it a bit further, saying Trump left Graham some voicemails about it as well. It’s just Colbert imitating Trump on the line (obviously) but the bit is downright hilarious!

Colbert will always have a response to the gaffes going on in the White House, so to decompress it’s nice to have him on TV every night during the week. Watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert when it airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS!
