On the third day of Paul Manafort’s trial resulting from the Robert Mueller investigation, Stephen Colbert had some fun at it on The Late Show.

That’s one way to make a major trial much more entertaining!

Last night on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert provided viewers with some updates on the Paul Manfort trial. Now in its third day, things are getting more tense for those closely aligned with Manafort in the past, namely Donald Trump. Colbert highlights the panicked recent tweets from the president, seeming to stem from Robert Mueller’s request to interview the president.

Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s primary lawyer, says Mueller needs to put up or shut up, as if he’s playing poker. “You’d better hope you’re not playing poker, because your client can’t keep a casino running,” notes Colbert. After filling in his viewers about the progress of the trial, Colbert then couldn’t help but notice Manafort’s wardrobe, which looks like “a blind pimp got 100 wishes.” If you saw what Manafort was wearing for yourself, you would know that’s not even a slight exaggeration. What was the guy thinking?

But what entertained Colbert most of all from the trial were the images drawn by the courtroom sketch artists. Far too much, they reminded Colbert of the classic music video for the a-Ha song, “Take on Me.” Sensing a golden opportunity, Colbert had the images turned into an actual music video for the song, and it’s just as hilarious as it sounds. You can find that out for yourself by watching it in the YouTube video below!

Surely, Colbert will be watching the progress of the trial and keeping viewers updated. Will there be more music videos? For more of Colbert’s responses, be sure to watch when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS.
