Jimmy Kimmel has noticed one of his staff writers has been hoarding nonsense in his office, so Matt Paxton of Hoarders comes in for an intervention.

Sometimes, to get the job done, you just have to call in a professional.

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, host Jimmy Kimmel spoke about an issue with one of the writers on his staff. The writer, Gary, has developed a bad problem with hoarding, collecting all kinds of random crap from eBay and other places. After his wife barred him from bringing any more junk home, Gary then started hoarding his stash in his office.

Noticing the problem, Kimmel called Matt Paxton from the show Hoarders to surprise Gary. As you would expect, Gary denies being a hoarder or that he has a problem. This, despite the giant duck he inexplicably has in his office, among many other nonsensical items. It goes without saying that Paxton recognizes right away that Gary is a hoarder, despite his insistence that he’s not.

Paxton notices that the duck can be opened, and there’s plenty of room to store things inside. So, he proposes to Gary the idea of filling up the duck with items in the room, which will then be donated to charity. Clearly, Gary is not comfortable giving anything up, but ultimately goes along with the idea. We can see the pain in his eyes as he says goodbye to his junk, but it’s humorous to see just how wacky some of the things he collects really are.
