Is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on tonight, July 8th, 2018?

We’ve made it to another Sunday, but will there be an all new episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver airing tonight? We have the info here.

As the summer rages on, we’re past the first week of July. Many TV shows have taken their summer hiatus already, including Real Time with Bill Maher. But can the same be said for Maher’s HBO colleague, John Oliver, who hosts Last Week Tonight every Sunday night?

Here’s the answer you’re looking for. Unfortunately, no, there’s not a new episode of the show on tonight. That means our Sunday night will be a little less funny. After last week’s strong episode focusing mainly on gene splicing, it’s going to feel weird tonight without more Oliver to look forward to.

The season isn’t completely over yet, however. But we won’t be seeing any more new episodes until almost the very end of the month. Expect Oliver to take the next couple weeks off as well, ultimately returning on July 29. It will be painful waiting for his return, but it’s good to know when he will be coming back. None of us will want to miss it.

As always, the subject of Oliver’s next episode will be a mystery. As sad as it is to say, anything can happen between now and his return. Chances are he’ll have a lot of catching up to do when he comes back. And after the weeks-long wait we will have just endured, it’s going to make it all the better when he comes back on that return show.
