Ivanka Trump breaks silence on vulgar Samantha Bee remarks

Ivanka Trump has remained rather silent about the harsh remarks Samantha Bee had for her on Full Frontal, but she’s finally speaking up about it.

Let’s do a quick rewind for anyone unfamiliar with this story. On her TBS series Full Frontal, host Samantha Bee came under some fire when she used a vulgar term to describe Ivanka Trump. It created a lot of controversy, which would lead to Bee apologizing for the comment. Ultimately, she got to keep her job, which her critics said was unfair. In the same vein, there were others who were behind Bee 100%.

But one person whose opinion we had yet to hear was Ivanka’s herself. Certainly, we can presume she wasn’t exactly thrilled to hear about it. But Ivanka managed to avoid talking about it publicly, and it didn’t seem likely she would anytime soon. That has changed, as The Washington Post reports that Ivanka has finally opened up about the feckless insult heard round the world. And her silence can pretty much be explained as her simply choosing to ignore it.

“I have chosen, and I made a conscientious decision a long time ago, that I was not going to get into the fray, and that means that I’ll absorb the body blows that come my way,” Trump said in a recent interview. According to the president’s daughter, her focus was to remain focused only on “the task at hand.” Presumably, this applies not only to this remark from Bee, but to anyone on television who’s been insulting her – from the late night comedians to Saturday Night Live.
