Colbert, Fallon, and Conan respond to Donald Trump bashing them
By Jeremy Dick
Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien appeared on the late show to join Stephen Colbert in responding to Donald Trump recently bashing the late night hosts.
Recently, the president of the United States went on another tirade against the comedians of late night television. His commends included calling Stephen Colbert a “lowlife” and saying Jimmy Fallon seems he has “no soul.” People have been wondering how the comics would respond, and last night, they delivered.
On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a few familiar faces joined Colbert for a special segment. Concerned about the comments Trump said about him, Colbert video calls his friend Jimmy Fallon for some insight. The two talk about the things Donald Trump said about them, that they were no talent lowlifes. “Well, that’s not right, that’s Conan,” Colbert jokes, before then dialing up Conan O’Brien as well into the video call.
When the Conan on TBS host answers, he’s in the midst of shaving. He’s asked how he feels about the comments President Trump made about them. To that, O’Brien seems surprised Trump was even elected president, acting oblivious to everything that’s going on. He encourages the other two to stay civil, before asking them if they want to watch his shave his chest. In response, Colbert terminates the connection to Conan.
Of course, Colbert and Fallon have time to put in another jab. The two decide that they’re still on for lunch, and debate on where to eat. They decide on the Red Hen – the restaurant whose manager famously refused to seat Sarah Huckabee Sanders based on her work with Donald Trump.
