With people saying Matt Damon “replaced” best friend Ben Affleck with Chris Hemsworth, Affleck is taking sides with Damon’s arch-nemesis Jimmy Kimmel.

I guess this means war!

For many years now, Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel have had a long-running feud. The two will often take jabs at each other, which plays out on Jimmy Kimmel Live quite a bit. The quarrel may be in jest, but it’s been maintaining for such a long time and now seems to be heating up even more.

Recently, Damon went on vacation with fellow actor Chris Hemsworth. This led to fans jumping on social media to joke that Damon is replacing Ben Affleck with Hemsworth as his new best friend forever. It’s apparently gotten such a reaction that Affleck himself took to Twitter to respond, noting that he is now siding completely with Kimmel. In a new tweet, Affleck tells Hemsworth he’s on Team Jimmy Kimmel anyway, so he “can have” Damon.

Humorously enough, Hemsworth and Kimmel also jumped in after this tweet to keep things going. First, Hemsworth jokes with Affleck that it’s not his fault Damon likes Marvel more than DC. Telling Kimmel that the ball is now in his court, Hemsworth says for the late night funnyman to choose his next move wisely.

But Kimmel isn’t backing down. He’s calling this a big win for Team Batman, which is probably a “Thor thubject” for Damon. There’s something strange about seeing this mock feud play out between these celebrities on Twitter, but at the same time, it’s really fun to watch.
