Jimmy Kimmel delivers mean tweets to Eminem at Coachella
By Jeremy Dick
Late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel made a surprise appearance during Eminem’s set at Coachella, bringing along some mean tweets for the rapper to respond to.
At least the hip hop star is a good sport!
As reported by TIME, Eminem was in for a treat during his live performance at Coachella over the weekend. On screens on the main stage during the headlining performance, Kimmel told those in attendance how he personally loves Eminem – but not everyone does. And that segues into having some trademark mean tweets read about Eminem, right in front of all of his adoring fans.
It seems the tweets were mostly about how Eminem’s starpower is fading. One such tweet says he hasn’t been relevant since 2003. “Remember when Eminem was actually dope?” another one asked. But to be fair, the rapper took it all in stride, and said the tweeter actually had a point. With that, Eminem then moved into doing another set to please those people still stuck in his musical past.
“Can I take you back to a time when I was actually good?” Eminem asked his fans, earning tons of applause. He then performed some of his biggest classic hits, such as The Real Slim Shady and My Name Is. If nothing else it was certainly a great way of responding to those mean tweets from former fans.
