Stephen Colbert loves Donald Trump’s new ‘Spanky’ nickname
By Jeremy Dick
The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert is getting a big kick out of the new nickname Donald Trump has in Washington, with people now referring to him as Spanky.
Donald Trump, the man who had a penchant for handing out mean nicknames to all of his political competitors, now has a new unpleasant nickname for himself!
Last night on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert brought up the president of the United States in his opening monologue. Speaking about the alleged affair between Trump and porn star Stormy Daniels, Colbert finds it strange that Trump has been oddly quiet over the matter. It’s certainly strange when you consider he finds the time to berate Alec Baldwin over his Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live performance. Why is he so silent over this situation?
All that aside, Colbert has found some humor in the middle of the whole debacle. He reveals that Trump is being referred to behind his back in Washington by some as “Spanky” — a direct references to the claims from Daniels that she spanked the president with a magazine. It seems that the man who coined such nicknames as “Lyin’ Ted” and “Crooked Hillary” is now known as President Spanky!
The studio audience finds this just as funny as Colbert, who says this is the best news he’s heard all day. You can watch the bit in the YouTube video below.
