Joel McHale was known as the face of The Soup for many years, and now he’s resuming his hosting duties on his very own new series on Netflix.

And it’s coming sooner than you might think!

According to Engadget, Joel McHale will soon be hosting a new weekly series on the Netflix streaming service. Called The Joel McHale Show Starring Joel McHale, the unscripted program will be similar to The Soup. McHale will make scathing observations about the things he sees in pop culture, but this time, he won’t have the censorship that the E! network would demand of the show. In other words, the gloves are now off!

The first episode of the half-hour show will be available on the service on Feb. 18, 2018. New episodes will then follow each week. It isn’t clear exactly how many episodes will be in this first run or how long it will go.

This isn’t too surprising, given the attempt of Netflix to keep the competition going with “regular TV.” Recently, David Letterman debuted his own show on the network as well, interviewing former president Barack Obama as his first guest. The Netlix catalog is nice, but they need to keep the fresh content coming. More weekly shows like this will help a lot with that, and this is certainly a good move by the service.
