Donald Trump took to Twitter to announce he is postponing his “Fake News Awards” from tomorrow until later this month, likely because of a football game.

So who’s gonna take the gold at the Fakies?

Recently, Donald Trump announced he’d be holding his own awards event in the same vein of the Golden Globes. Calling it the “Fake News Awards,” Trump says he will be calling out the most dishonest and corrupt media outlets for their alleged fakery. Originally, he promised to reveal the results on Jan. 8, but today, Trump has confirmed it has been postponed to Jan. 17.

For what it’s worth, the late night comedians are having a lot of fun with this. Stephen Colbert actually paid for his own “For Your Consideration” billboard in Times Square, hopeful to rake in some of those Fakies for himself. Similarly, Trevor Noah from The Daily Show paid for an ad in The New York Times, also asking for recognition at the “event.” It seems those who “win” at the event are only going to find the whole thing amusing.

The president did not offer an explanation for postponing the Fake News Awards in his tweet. According to Deadline, however, Trump is expected to attend the championship college football game in Atlanta that day. While the Fake News Awards seems to be a big deal for Trump, it’s apparently not as exciting as watching some football.
