It’s Sunday night, and that might mean there will be an all new episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver premiering tonight on HBO. Is that what it means? Well, sorry to be the one to break this to you, but there will not be a new episode tonight!

Last Week Tonight has completed its fourth season, officially taking its hiatus for the rest of the year. Oliver won’t be coming back with new episodes until 2018. For now, we’re going to have to make do with Christmas and spending time with loved ones (that’s okay too, I suppose).

The good news is that Oliver has had his show renewed by HBO through 2020 already. We have multiple more season of the show guaranteed, which is the silver lining to going without for now. The waits between seasons are going to be the only negatives, but it’s good to know Oliver will be on the air until at least the next presidential election. Something tells me we are going to need him more than ever in the year 2020.
