The X-Files was not met without fan criticism when it returns for a six-episode tenth season, and creator Chris Carter is responding to the complaints.

Chris Carter has heard your complaints, and he has responded!

If you weren’t entirely satisfied with the long-awaited return of The X-Files, you’re not alone. Though it didn’t exactly bomb, there were many people less than impressed with the show’s return. It’s leaving some fans to question if the show will be any better when it returns for Season 11 in January, but according to the series creator Chris Carter, it will be!

In an all new interview with TV Line, Carter responds to some of the complaints that the show wasn’t what it was before with some fans. He brings up a great point about the show being off the air for more than a decade, and perhaps they just had to work out the rust after so many years. From the interview:

"“We [relaunched] from a standing start after not having been on the air for 12 years — there was some reacquainting that had to be achieved. It was like old friends getting back together. We had to shake some of the stiffness out. … I think that we’re all in fighting shape now.”"

What this means is that those who weren’t too thrilled with Season 10 should still be giving the next season a chance. Now that the gang is getting back into the groove of things we may be seeing a better result.
