After the fall of former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, Bernie Sanders gave his thoughts about the situation on last night’s Late Night.

Somehow I knew ol’ Bernie would have something to say about this one!

Recently, former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was indicted due to his collusion with Russia. The timing of this coincided with Bernie Sanders, former presidential candidate, appearing on last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. So obviously the issue was going to come up…

Sanders comments that this is indeed a very big deal. It’s important to note that the man leading this investigation, Robert Mueller, was previously appointed as FBI Director by George Bush, later being reappointed by Barack Obama. This ensured a nonpartisan investigation, free from bias, and we are now seeing the results.

But while recognizing the progress, Bernie still has some concerns about moving forward. While this is good news for those against Trump, Sanders doesn’t want anyone to feel like the fight is almost over. People will still need to head to the ballot box to vote out the people they don’t want in office, otherwise they’ll still be dealing with all of the same issues:

“Number one, we have got to take on Trump’s attacks against the environment, against women, against latinos and blacks and people in the gay community. We’ve gotta fight back every day on those issues.”

Sanders goes on to add that the USA is the wealthiest country in the history of the world, and we also need to stay focused on the bread and butter issues as well. That includes healthcare, families being able to feed their children, students paying for college, etc. As Sanders stresses, the country needs an economy that works for everyone, and not just the 1%.
