Series creator Robert Kirkman has confirmed that The Walking Dead will cross over with its spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead in an upcoming episode.

It’s finally going to happen!

The spinoff series to The Walking Dead, known as Fear the Walking Dead, is three seasons in. Yet, it has never had any kind of crossover with the parent series as of yet. Taking place at different points in time, and also in completely different places, it makes sense as to why we haven’t. And it didn’t seem like we ever would.

Well, straight from Robert Kirkman himself, that all changes. Kirkman has confirmed that there WILL be a crossover between the two shows. He isn’t saying whether a Fear character will appear on The Walking Dead or vice versa, only that one character will be showing up on the other show for the span of a single episode. The news comes courtesy of Polygon.

Fear the Walking Dead does not have nearly the same number of viewers as the parent series. However, it’s still got a strong following and remains one of the highest rated TV shows. Though not every fan has stuck with it, critics have been more kind to the show in its more recent episodes. Maybe the crossover can help bring some attention from the fans back to the spinoff.
