Gotham cast confirms ‘no nipples’ on Bruce’s batsuit
By Jeremy Dick
Referring to one of the most well known controversies from the Batman movies, it’s been confirmed that Batman’s batsuit on Gotham won’t have nipples.
Fans might not be happy with every decision made from FOX about Gotham, but here’s something all of us should be able to agree on!
First, let’s just rewind for a minute for anyone unaware. Back in the 90s, George Clooney starred as Bruce Wayne in the critically panned Batman flick, Batman and Robin. One of the most common criticisms from the film is the way Batman’s batsuit had nipples designed onto them. It seems to small, but at the same time, it’s just so bizarre and distracting.
Over the years, the nipples on the batsuit have become something of a running gag for fans of the franchise. To this day, fans still talk about it in jest. So much so that even the cast of Gotham actually addressed it in a recent interview clip posted on AV Club.
One by one, several of the cast members respond whether we will see the infamous bat nipples appear on the batsuit once Bruce Wayne finally puts it on. And let’s just say not a one of them thinks it’s a good idea. Most of the cast members are quick to just say no, though Cory Michael Smith (Ed Nygma) has a little fun with it. He ponders what it’d look like if there were flesh-colored nipples on the black batsuit.
