Today is Sunday, and while tonight’s Primetime Emmy Awards is what many people are focusing on, fans of John Oliver are wondering something else. Is there going to be a new episode of his amazing HBO program Last Week Tonight premiering tonight at the usual time?

Well, I have some bad news for you if you’re an Oliver fan. Our guy isn’t going to be on tonight, meaning the Emmys are all you really need to worry about for TV today. Oliver is taking a week off, but don’t fret too much, because he will be back next week on Sept. 24.

Chances are Oliver is going to be there at the Emmys to support his pal Stephen Colbert, who’s hosting the show this year. Also, Oliver’s show is up for eight awards this year. If it wins any, they’ll go nicely with the two the show has already won in the past: Outstanding Interactive Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.

Oliver has also had his show renewed recently for three additional seasons, taking Last Week Tonight through 2020. HBO is liking what they’re seeing with the numbers and content Oliver is producing for them, so they apparently want to be sure he’s not going anywhere for a while!
