John Oliver isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, as HBO has locked down the comedian for at least three more years by renewing Last Week Tonight!

The HBO network is going all in with John Oliver!

Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter, we have learned that Oliver’s series, Last Week Tonight, has been renewed for MULTIPLE new seasons! Not one, not two, but three seasons have been guaranteed for the “British Milhouse”. Like him or not, he’s going to be a mainstay for years to come on Sunday nights.

With these three upcoming seasons, we will definitely have at least seven seasons overall of the show. Each season will consist of 30 episodes, for a total of 90 episodes overall ordered by HBO.

This news comes just days after HBO dished out another high profile renewal. Real Time with Bill Maher has also been renewed into 2020, with HBO picking up at least two more seasons of the show. Perhaps with their flagship series Game of Thrones winding down, HBO is latching on much harder to the popular shows that they still have.

After HBO programming president Casey Bloys said the network was “thrilled” to extend Oliver’s time with HBO, the Last Week Tonight host offered this response:

"“First: I firmly disagree with everything Casey just said. Second: We’re very grateful to Richard Plepler, Casey and everyone at HBO for letting us continue to do whatever it is we actually do. And finally: We’d also like to thank our staff for all their hard work. We’re incredibly proud of all of you, and rather than tell you that to your face, we’d like to do it in the cold, dispassionate form of a press release.”"

In any case, as a huge fan of Oliver’s, this is nothing short of fantastic news. Be sure to catch episodes of the current season when they air Sunday nights at 11 PM EST on HBO!
