Joel Osteen faced a lot of heat by not initially allowing Harvey relief victims into his church, so Rick from Rick and Morty decided to give his church a call.

Who wouldn’t want to receive a phone call from Rick and Morty‘s Rick Sanchez? Apparently, not the people fielding phone calls at Joel Osteen’s church!

If you’re not familiar with Rick and Morty, do yourself a favor and give it a watch. It’s completely unlike any other animated series you’ve ever seen, but in the best possible way. Expertly written with hysterical characters and voice acting, the show has just barely gotten into Season 3 but is already one of TV’s most popular shows.

One of the show’s co-creators, Justin Roiland, provides the voices for both of the show’s leads, Rick Sanchez and his nephew Morty. After the idea arose for Roiland to use Rick’s voice to prank call Joel Olsteen’s mega church, the plan was set into motion. In a video posted to YouTube, which you can check out below, Roiland phones Osteen’s church and remains in character throughout as Rick.

In the call, “Rick” initially offers a large amount of money to donate to the church, but it’s not long until he’s squabbling with the woman on the phone. After some confusion, she literally starts speaking in tongues at him. But Roiland’s Rick doesn’t back down, eventually making the woman herself laugh “at her own nonsense”.

Watch the entire call in the video below.

Hopefully this is just a sign of more prank calls to come. Rick and Morty prank calls could be even better than The Jerky Boys.
