Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the worst part about playing Negan
By Jeremy Dick
The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan gets to have a lot of fun playing the deadly Negan, but there’s at least one major thing he hates about the role.
Wait… there’s a con to playing Negan?!
Recently, The Walking Dead cast and crew held their annual panel at San Diego Comic Con. Many of the show’s biggest stars were in attendance, including its biggest bad guy. Of course, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was there, representing the show’s most deadly villain ever, Negan.
Although Negan’s a bad guy, he’s a character most fans love to hate. Say what you will about how sinister he is, but the guy is funny. He has had some of the best lines on the show to date. He gets to kick a lot of ass, too, and it’s rare anyone ever gets the upper hand on him. For an actor with a sense of humor, playing Negan would be one of the greatest roles you could imagine.
At the comic con panel, Morgan confirmed that he loves playing the character, and shares his sense of humor with the man. However, in the same vein, there’s something he hates about being Negan as well. Here’s what he said at the panel, via ComicBook.com:
"“I think he’s got a great sense of humor. And in these dark days, a sense of humor will help you get through. What do I like least about him? That he wears a leather jacket on a 120-degree day.”"

Wow — what a great point. Though I knew that the cast of The Walking Dead had to go through some unbearably hot filming days, I never thought about Negan’s leather jacket. Sheesh, that poor guy has to be burning up underneath that letter, but I guess it’s a small price to pay for always looking like a badass.
