Is Full Frontal With Samantha Bee new tonight?
Nope, Samantha Bee is off this week, but the show returns with something special April 29.
There’s no new Full Frontal tonight, but we’re willing to give Samantha Bee and her team a pass, on account of the presidential special they’re cooking up. That’s right, as you may or may not remember, Bee and company are hosting Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Same night (April 29), same time (10/9 central), different place (the Willard Hotel and TBS). Bee’s special is the roast Trump is trying to avoid.
Bee and executive producer Jo Miller announced the special in January, inviting the celebrities and journalists who would not be attending the main event. The proceeds of the Bee’s alternative gala will benefit the Committee to Protect Journalists and the hope is to bring the show’s trademark treatment to the issues they care about. Including, but not limited to, freedom of press.
Meanwhile, across town, another Daily Show veteran, Hasan Minhaj, will be leading proceedings at the Washington Hilton. The White House Correspondents’ Association declared that the night will also pay tribute to free press and promised they would not roast Trump in absentia. (Bee has made no such promises.)
In any case, Trump will not be attending either event, nor will his staff. Vanity Fair and Bloomberg have both canceled their hallmark parties. All around, it’s shaping up to be a non-traditional night for journalists and the celebrities who party with them.

April 29 is, of course, not a Wednesday, so you’re next regularly scheduled episode of Full Frontal – season 2 episode 8, for those keeping track – will be May 10.
Tonight, April 12, TBS will be replaying the season 1 episode 39, in which “Full Frontal takes a trip across the pond before Trump decides to drain that too.”
