Colbert discusses Trump’s healthcare bill on Late Show
By Tyler Brooke
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert returned from its hiatus and opened Monday night’s episode by talking about Donald Trump’s healthcare plan.
Late night talk show host Stephen Colbert and his staff enjoyed a bit of a break last week while they aired pre-recorded episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Fortunately, the crew was reenergized for a new week of episodes starting on Monday.
Monday night’s episode of The Late Show opened up with Colbert talking about the recent week of events, most notably with the President Donald Trump and the American Health Care Act. The proposed bill to repeal and replace Obamacare was pulled back due to a lack of support, with Trump calling out Democrats specifically.
There was even an interesting moment when President Trump tweeted out and encouraged his followers to watch Judge Jeanine on FOX News on Saturday night. The show opened up with Judge Jeanine calling for Paul Ryan to step down, leading to many questioning whether or not the President knew that’s what she would talk about.
You can watch the entire opening monologue from Monday night’s episode of The Late Show in the YouTube video below.
To help break everything down from the past week for Trump, The Late Show brought back the supportive news channel Real News Tonight to help explain that the failed healthcare bill was definitely not Trump’s fault and that it was totally because of Ryan.
