This week on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, we talk to Bassem Youssef and how we can keep joking about autocracy for more than two months.

Rise and shine. It’s another Thursday morning in Donald Trump’s America, folks. And you know what that means? If you guessed that it means we’re bringing you the best of the best clips from last nights Full Frontal with Samantha Bee then you’re already doing pretty damn good this morning. So sit back and have some coffee because we’re serving up a side of despotism.

On this segment of Full Frontal, Bee sits down with Bassem Youssef, the “Egyptian Samantha Bee,” as she describes him. He’s created a talk show in Egypt where he says things “that no one dared say on Egyptian television before.” Sounds familiar. But Youssef has a bit of a different image of Trump than some do in this country.

"“If Trump was running for presidency in the Middle East, he would be classified as a tree-hugging liberal. Our dictators in the Middle East would look at Trump and say, ‘oh yeah, that’s so cute.'”"

Okay, so you’re telling me it could be worse?

Check out the full clip here:

Youssef suggests that America needs a few more decades of dictatorship before we can actually get mad about it. Bee disagrees completely. “Americans don’t like to wait. We get annoyed when we have to stir the mac n’ cheese halfway through the microwaving.”

I have to say I agree with Bee on this one. A few decades of dictatorship seems a bit much. How about 4 years instead and we’ll promise to do better next time around? “Good luck with the revolution.” Youssef leave us with this piece of advice.
