1. Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton was always Amy Poehler’s role. But when she left, the mantel was passed on to Kate McKinnon and boy was that a gift to us all. It’s not that Kate is just great as Hillary Clinton, it’s that she completely embodies Clinton and makes you fall in love with her.

This woman is amazing (well both Kate and Hillary are incredible) and to see someone play her so easily is truly amazing to see. The most heartbreaking of episodes was the one directly after the election.

It opened with Kate McKinnon in an all white suit as Hillary Rodham Clinton. Leonard Cohen had died earlier that week and she sang “Hallelujah”. The best part though? “I’m not giving up and neither should you.”

Truly Saturday Night Live has been a beacon since the election. Every week they have made it so we could laugh at everything that was happening in our country. And they have even made sure to keep Kate McKinnon coming back as Hillary. Remember the sketches about Hillary in the woods?

I truly think that there will be a Hillary moment in the episode with Alec Baldwin hosting just because those were some of the best cold opens of the shows history. They still continue to be great but there is nothing better than the debate cold opens with Trump and Hillary.

Saturday Night Live has so many great sketches with political figures that it is hard to pick the best. But there are definitely those who stand out. And I guess, what you can gather from all this, is that Kate McKinnon can play any figure and we’ll all love it.
