Former Saturday Night Live actor Taran Killam is convinced that the NFL is rigged to benefit the Patriots, especially after Super Bowl 51.

If you watched the Super Bowl this weekend, you probably still don’t believe what you saw. The New England Patriots came back from 28-3, mounting the single greatest Super Bowl comeback we’ve ever seen to capture their fifth title of the Tom Brady era.

Five rings for Brady means that plenty of people are pushing back against a guy so many are sick of seeing win. One of those people is former SNL cast member Taran Killam, who after the Patriots comeback took to Twitter to vent his frustrations.

He was probably (mostly) kidding, but Killam echoed the sentiment of so many on Sunday night by saying that the Super Bowl was rigged in favor of the Patriots and that the NFL is is never going to let anyone else win.

It’s worth noting that Killam is a die-hard Los Angeles Rams fan, but that doesn’t mean his feelings that the NFL is rigged towards the Patriots aren’t valid. The idea that New England could come back from the deficit that it did to win the Super Bowl in the fashion that we saw is pretty  unfathomable — which is why people have been so quick to find the easiest possible answer to why it happened: Cheating.

New England has been busted a few times already for cheating, which is why people so easily have come to the conclusion that they must have been up to something in Super Bowl 51. A team simply does not come back and score 31 unanswered points without there being something more to it, right?

That’s just the power of Tom Brady, apparently. Killam and others are within their rights to be skeptical of the Patriots winning ways but that doesn’t change the fact that it happened.
