Does SNL have a new episode tonight, February 4th?
By Josh Hill
Saturday Night Live is back tonight after a week off, but where can you watch it and when will the action start?
After taking a week off, Saturday Night Live is returning tonight with its annual pre-Super Bowl edition of the show. Traditionally, the show airs an episode the night before the big game, and that’s true again this year. Last year saw Seinfeld co-creator and Bernie Sanders impersonator Larry David host the pre-Super Bowl show and the year before that J.K. Simmons hosted the Super Bowl eve show.
This year it will be Kristen Stewart, who is taking the indie film scene by storm these days and carving out a name for herself outside of the Twilight realm. This will mark the first time that the 90s grunge throwback kid will be hosting SNL in her career.
Among the topics we can probably assume will be covered are the protests ongoing around the country. Whether it’s general protest about the decisions Donald Trump is making as president or the Muslim travel ban that has sparked scores of airport protests. SNL hasn’t been shy about going after Trump, but it might high time time that they include Steve Bannon into the trolling.
Setting their sights on Putin, Pence and Trump has proved to be comedy gold, but attacking Bannon — who is seen as the real architect of the Trump regime — is something SNL has failed to do thus far in the first three weeks of this administration’s power.
Maybe tonight will change that, we’ll have to wait and see.
