Seth Meyers talks Donald Trump’s travel ban backlash on A Closer Look
By Tyler Brooke
Late Night with Seth Meyers had plenty to talk about on Monday night regarding the backlash from Donald Trump’s travel ban over the weekend.
It has been less than two weeks under the presidency of Donald Trump, and there is already plenty of controversy surrounding him. While that may concern a significant amount of Americans, it has given late night talk shows the chance to continue to take shots at Trump.
That’s exactly what Late Night with Seth Meyers did to kick off the week on Monday night. For their regular segment of “A Closer Look”, Meyers broke down the recent executive order from Trump that has created a travel ban to seven predominantly Muslim countries.
The ban has impacted numerous green card holders as they’ve entered the country, leading to massive protests around the country, including at JFK International Airport in New York. One man who spent a decade as an interpreter for the U.S. military was detained for 18 hours at JFK talked about how much he loves America immediately after being released.
As Meyers pointed out, anyone that can spend at least two hours at JFK without going crazy deserves automatic citizenship. You can watch the entire segment in the YouTube video below.
There were plenty of protests at these airports, and even some pretty interesting signs that may or may not have been purchased at Samuel L. Jackson’s Sign Emporium.

For some Americans, it’s been a very long couple of months, and while there is plenty that those people are worried about, the bright side is that shows like Late Night are going to continue to take shots at Trump.
