The Trainspotting 2 crew stopped by The Graham Norton Show this week and re-crated the iconic poster from the first film.
We are just weeks away from the premiere of Trainspotting 2, the long-awaited sequel to the classic 1996 film that broke the mold in so many ways. From the visionary filmmaking to the trippy script and the pulsing soundtrack, Trainspotting was a pioneer in the ‘Cool Britainia’ movement of the mid-to-late 90s.
Perhaps all of that was kicked off with poster for the film, which also broke the mold as far as what we were used to with film advertisements. There was nothing traditional about Trainspotting and that’s why we remember it as fondly as we do.
With the sequel — 21 years in the making — set to come out in a few weeks, Graham Norton had gang on his show. While topics discussed ranged from Robert Carlyle’s work on The Full Monty and the falling out between Danny Boyle and Ewan McGregor, things were as fun as you’d want them to be.
One moment that stuck out was the recreation of the iconic Trainspotting poster, with Graham Norton filling in for the absent Kelly Macdonald.
