After positive reviews for the first season of A Series of Unfortunate events, the Netflix original series is already beginning work on Season 2.

Netflix has been known to create a ton of fantastic original content, and the latest project in A Series of Unfortunate Events is already bringing in some generally positive reviews. Fans of the Netflix adaptation will be thrilled to hear that it’s not going away any time soon.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the author of the Series of Unfortunate Events book series Daniel Handler (known better by his pseudonym Lemony Snicket) confirmed that Season 2 of the Netflix series is already in production.

The first season of the new Netflix series covers the first four books of the 13-book series. Season 2 is expected to take the show through book nine, with a third and final season expected to round out the entire series.

The Netflix show has done a great job of setting a dark, mysterious and sometime humorous tone that the books did such a great job of doing. Although Handler admitted that the series won’t follow the books entirely, he did mention that the end destination will be the same.

For those who haven’t seen A Series of Unfortunate Events yet, the series follows the lives of the Baudelaire orphans immediately after their parents supposedly die in a fire that destroys their family home. The orphans are then adopted by a wicked man named Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris) as he attempts to steal the orphans’ family fortune. The show also stars Patrick Warburton as the narrator, Lemony Snicket.
