Seth Meyers compares Donald Trump to Tywin Lannister (Video)

Seth Meyers compared President-elect Donald Trump to the Lannister family from Game of Thrones, expect one that doesn’t pay his debts.
Monday night was the it me for late night hosts all over the country to react to and defend Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech the night prior. It was a giant talking point heading into the week, with people either agreeing with her takedown of Trump or basically telling her to know her place and stay in her lane.
Seth Meyers touched on the Streep speech, but mainly focused in on Trump’s other failings since the year has begun. Specifically, Meyers zeroed in on the ongoing relationship that Trump is budding with Vladimir Putin and Russia. From the way Trump has been Putin’s cheerleader on Twitter to the way he has basically written off computers as being evil. Meyers dropped the hammer a few different times, but one of his best trolls came with the help of the HBO series Game of Thrones.
The real punchline wasn’t comparing him to who we are assuming is Tywin Lannister, but saying that the comparison doesn’t make sense since Trump never pays his debts.
‘You could just go full Lannister and communicate by raven,” Meyers trolled before getting to the punchline. “Oh wait you can’t. I just remembered a Lannister always pays his debts.”
Meyers has the credit of being a late night host who wasn’t afraid to go in on Trump from the beginning. Social media killed Meyers’ lead in — Jimmy Fallon — for pandering to Trump when he had him on Tonight Show. Meyers, on the other hand, has banned Trump from appearing on his show.

Meyers continues to be one of the best late night hosts in the business today, and we can use more of his point of view as the Trump era begins.
