What is the FX show Taboo about?
By Tyler Brooke
Last Night On provides you with information on all of your favorite late night programs, including what the new FX series Taboo is all about.
FX has continued to release some exciting shows like Donald Glover’s Atlanta, but the show that everyone is starting to talk about is Taboo, and the series is finally making its debut on Tuesday night.
Despite all of the hype surrounding Taboo, few people actually know what it’s about. The series stars Tom Hardy, who is also a creator, while legendary director Ridley Scott is one of its executive producers.
The new FX series is set in London in 1814. Hardy stars as James Keziah Delaney, a man who returns from Africa after being presumed dead to take over his recently deceased father’s shipping empire. However, the situation isn’t nearly that simple as Delaney begins to discover more about his father’s empire and what came with his fortune.
You can watch a trailer for the upcoming FX series, which debuts on January 10th at 10 p.m. ET, in the YouTube video below.
Hardy isn’t the only big name to have a role in Taboo. Oona Chaplin (Talisa Stark) and Jonathan Pryce (the High Sparrow) from Game of Thrones will play major roles, as will Michael Kelly (Doug Stamper) from House of Cards.

For now, there isn’t a lot more information about the show itself, but Hardy’s character naturally seems to be shrouded in mystery. The trailers seem to hint at a traumatic incident while Delaney was in Africa, but we won’t know anything for sure until the show has aired.
Taboo is almost here, and whatever the series holds, people are already getting excited to see what the likes of Hardy and Scott have to offer.
