Chance the Rapper performs on Saturday Night Live
Grammy nominated recording artists Chance the Rapper performed during the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Casey Affleck.
There have been a number of big musical guests during this season of Saturday Night Live, from A Tribe Called Quest to The xx. However, the Christmas episode for this season might have featured the most anticipated performance of the year.
Hip-hop recording artists Chance the Rapper was the musical guests for this week’s episode, while actor Casey Affleck was the host. Affleck was promoting his new movie Manchester By the Sea, while Chance is continuing to enjoy the success of his latest project, Coloring Book.
Chance’s rise to stardom has continued since the release of his mixtape. In fact, the Chicago-raised rapper was even nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song.
Grammys and everything, getting to perform on Saturday Night Live has to be one of the highlights of Chance the Rapper’s career up to this point. You can watch a video of Chance’s performing “Finish Line/Drown” with a surprise appearance from Noname below.
Not only did Chance the Rapper do a live performance, but he also appeared in a skit with Kenan Thompson in a new Christmas song about Barack Obama’s last Christmas as the President of the United States.
Although Coloring Book was the first mainstream hit for Chance, it’s starting to seem more and more like this is only the beginning for the 23-year-old. Hopefully this isn’t the last time that he’ll perform on Saturday Night Live, either.
