The Walking Dead Season 7, episode 5: Most shocking moments

4. Carl saves the girl and gets a kiss
Up to her old tricks, Enid is planning on fleeing Alexandria again to head to the Hilltop. Carl observes her leaving and fails to convince her to stay. She hops over the fence and heads out on her own to check on Maggie at the Hilltop.
Danger eventually finds Enid, and a walker is closing in on her. Enter Carl in a vehicle, who smashes the walker but destroys the car in the process. Carl says he is refusing to let Enid go alone, and he will accompany her to the Hilltop.
The walk seems to be a bonding experience for these teenagers. They do seem to get to know each other a bit more, and even bond over finding two pairs of rollers skates. It’s fairly pleasant as far as long walks on the outside in a zombie apocalypse can go.
Carl’s true intentions start to bleed out by the end. He makes clear his determination to go after Negan and kill him. This time, Enid tries to talk him out of it, but there’s no convincing him. They two say what feels like a goodbye, considering the danger Carl’s putting himself in. But before he departs, Carl makes his move and gets a kiss from Enid.
