3. Negan takes everyone’s guns away
“They’re gonna take all our guns!”
That’s the rallying cry you always hear every time an political election comes up. So many American have an irrational fear of having their guns taken away from them. It’s not likely to happen anytime soon, but the fear has been floating around for years and years.
In the world of The Walking Dead, however, it can and does happen. While the Saviors are in the process of taking whatever they desire, a gunshot is heard. Negan investigates to find out that Carl fired it as a warning shot; the Saviors are taking much more than Negan promised. But Negan reminds Carl that his take is whatever he says it is, even if others don’t agree.
Even worse, Negan is concerned about Carl’s warning shot. He now considers it a liability to let the Alexandrians keep their guns. So, he’s going to take ALL of them away. He cleans out their armory, with Olivia’s record showing two guns currently missing. So Negan warns Rick that he better find them fast, otherwise Olivia is going to meet Lucille.
Fortunately, Rick knows exactly who would’ve taken them. He tears Spencer’s quarters apart, finally finding them hidden in a floor vent. He gives them to Negan, relinquishing the entire collection, but it does save Olivia’s life.
