Barbara Eden (Arizona)

Fans of classic TV certainly recognize the lovely Barbara Eden. In 1965, Eden first signed on to star in the NBC sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. Eden plays the titular role of Jeannie, an attractive genie set free from her bottle by an astronaut. It was NBC’s answer to Bewitched and there are many who much prefer Jeannie as the better show.

Eden hails from Tucson, Arizona. As a child, Eden got into singing and performing. She would take acting classes merely as a way to improve her singing. Throughout her teenage years, Eden improves as a singer up until graduation. She then takes a year’s worth of theater classes at college before kickstarting her TV career. This would snowball into dozens of various television and film appearances, including co-starring in a movie with Elvis Presley.

While Jeannie is Eden’s most well-known role, her acting career spans for decades past that performance. Other notable TV roles include starring in Brand New Life, part of The Magical World of Disney. She also has a recurring role in the final season of Dallas as Lee Ann De La Vega, a billionairess who seeks revenge against the J.R. Ewing character.
