Jason Momoa (Hawaii)

Here’s an actor many comic book fans are already familiar with. Jason Momoa first appears as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in a cameo role. It sets up the upcoming Justice League film, which will feature Aquaman teaming with a group of other superheroes based on the comics of the same name.

But if you’re a fan of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, then you were already familiar with Momoa. Starting in the very first season of the show, Momoa plays Khal Drogo, a mighty warrior who marries Emilia Clarke’s character Daenerys Targaryan. In a show featuring so many ruthless and vicious characters, Khal Drogo remains one of the best the show has ever featured.

Momoa has really come a long way from Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was born in 1979. He got his start as a model before being cast on the short-lived Baywatch Hawaii. The peak of his still budding career would come as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones, but he’s seemingly transitioning into a major film star. Not only is he playing Aquaman as I mention above, but he will also reportedly play the lead in an upcoming remake of The Crow.
