Neil Patrick Harris (New Mexico)
Who doesn’t love Neil Patrick Harris? The veteran comedy actor first entered our hearts as a child actor decades ago. He played the titular young doctor on the series Doogie Howser, M.D. After the show ended, Harris hadn’t completely retired from acting, though it’s safe to say his TV career was mostly stalling.
In the early 2000s though, this would change with the release of Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. The stoner buddy-comedy featured two slackers on a quest to get some White Castle sandwiches. On the way, they run into Neil Patrick Harris, playing an exaggerated version of himself. He was looking to score drugs and party with women— despite the fact that he’s gay in real life.
This led to a resurgence in the actor’s career. Following this he snagged a starring role on the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother. During the show’s run he was always one of its funniest characters. Now, it’s all brought Harris to being one of the most beloved stars on television. He continues to act and appear on various shows. He’s also a regular now for hosting various awards shows, including the Primetime Emmy Awards.
