Ed Helms (Georgia)

The comedian Ed Helms is a face commonly seen in comedy feature films. He is a primary fixture in the films of The Hangover movie series. He also stars as the lead character in the Vacation reboot. But for as many film roles as he gets, Helms is still widely known as one of the funniest television stars. With The Office in syndication, chances are you could channel surf on any given day and come across his face.

After growing up in Georgia, Helms earned a B.A. in film theory and technology. He would go on to do comedy, coming across an open audition for the political satire series The Daily Show. He impressed casting directors and became a correspondent on the show, breaking him out into the world of television. He’s still one of the best-remembered correspondents of the series.

But it’s certainly the American version of the office we remember him best from. For seven seasons, Helms plays the lovable dimwit Andy Bernard. After Steve Carell’s character Michael Scott leaves the office, Andy comes in as his replacement. He manages to keep the show entertaining following such a heavy loss and is certainly one of the funniest characters overall.
