The Walking Dead is bleaker than ever in the newest episode of the series. Never before have we seen the show’s most popular character reach such a low point.
When we last saw Daryl, he was being thrown into the back of a vehicle to be taken to Negan’s camp. What happens next are some of the darkest moments seen on the series. Let’s take a minute to go through the five most shocking moments in the episode, starting with…
5. Daryl is naked and eating dog food sandwiches
This episode begins with Dwight making a delicious-looking sandwich using food he stole. There are eggs, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, just basically a sandwich which would make Scooby Doo proud. It was probably the only time The Walking Dead has made me hungry.
Moments later, Dwight makes another sandwich— this time using dog food. He takes it to Daryl Dixon, revealed to be naked and alone in a pitch black cell. It’s obvious that’s all he has to eat, because Daryl scarfs the sandwich right down. It seems kind of gross, but I guess it’s not much worse than Arby’s.
