3. The Kingdom is already dealing with the Saviors
Those pigs the group were rounding up earlier using zombies as bait? They weren’t meant for the Kingdom. The animals are taken to a remote location with only a small group present, including Ezekiel and Morgan. It’s revealed that they’re meeting a group of Negan’s men to deliver the meat.
We saw what happened last week when people don’t obey the Saviors. Maybe Zeke has already seen one or two of his knights meeting Lucille. In any case, it’s clear that he’s been in business with Negan for a while, offering weekly donations. He tells Morgan that nobody in the Kingdom knows, because he doesn’t want to start a war.
Being the scumbags they are, one of the Saviors attacks Richard, one of the knights. This turns into a fistfight before Zeke orders his man to stand down. Richard then has to stand there to let the Savior get some “free hits” on him before the bad guys drive away.
Morgan is suspicious as to why Ezekiel brought him along to this meeting. He wonders if he would have been the sacrificial lamb if the Saviors needed to kill somebody. But Zeke swears this isn’t the case.
