Saturday Night Live is in full swing with the scathing political satire, which brought back former Weekend Update anchors Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey.
This current election has been providing so much fodder for Saturday Night Live to mold into comedic gold each week. The Weekend Update desk got of to a so-so start last weekend but returned with a huge performance on Saturday night. Part of what helped take things to the next level were cameos by two former Update desk anchors.
Both Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon made surprise cameos after Colin Jost reported on how analysts believe the election could be swung by female voters in Pennsylvania. They duo rolled out and proceeded to nail what ended up being the finisher for this week’s edition of Weekend Update.

Say what you will about the Update last week, but seeing Fey and Fallon return to the desk they occupied a decade ago was something that no doubt took things up a few notches.
As was customary when he was there, Fallon couldn’t keep it together during the skit. It was a fit of nostalgia for fans who remember the glory days of the early-to-mid 2000s when Fallon and Fey were part of a magical cast.
It wasn’t as brilliant as the cold open that trolled Trump for his sexist comments but it was still fantastic. Fey’s rant about Trump at the end of the segment is one of the reasons we miss seeing her on Saturday Night Live every week.
Perhaps we can see more of these suburban Philadelphia voters on Tonight Show with Fallon since it’s never a bad time to pair those two up for a bit.
