4. It wasn’t his best season

This is a hot take, for sure, but it’s not one that many can argue with. Sure, we saw a Jon Snow heavy offseason followed by his character leading off the season with Snow-heavy episodes but he wasn’t all that great.

That’s not to say that Harrington was bad, because he wasn’t. Dan Selcke and myself have applauded Harrington on WiC Live for taking the leap to the next level as an actor, but there are more levels to this game than the ones Harrington has cleared.

Outside of Jon Snow returning from the dead — which was more hype than style — the only other time we really saw a Jon Snow performance was Battle of the Bastards. That episode was more of a technical feat than an acting display so we can’t be that upset Harrington didn’t win. This was, to many, his coming out season where he established himself as a viable Hollywood lead actor and a guy who has the chops to really blow us away in the coming years. This was a year we would have liked to see him win but it wasn’t his finest performance and we’d much rather see him him for a season that he truly deserves it for.
