Let’s re-live the infamous Jeff Fisher ‘7-9 bulls–t’ rant from Hard Knocks (Video)
By Josh Hill
The Los Angeles Rams gave head coach Jeff Fisher a three-year contract extension on Thursday, which seems to be some 7-9 bulls–t.
HBO featured the Los Angeles Rams this year on Hard Knocks, and that meant a heavy dose of head coach Jeff Fisher. The former Titans and Oilers coach used to be the longest tenured coach in the NFL before Tennessee let him go after the 2010 season.
He quickly picked up work in St. Louis with the Rams but hasn’t had the success he managed to stumble upon a few times in Tennessee. Fisher was with the Oilers/Titans for 17-seasons and managed to put together six winning seasons, including a trip to the Super Bowl in 1999-00.
But since he joined the Rams, he hasn’t put together a single winning season. With the team moving to Los Angeles, Fisher is using it as a chance to turn over a new leaf and get the team to win something for once.
That whole venture started with Fisher railing against his team in training camp — and in front of HBO cameras — that he wasn’t going to settle for ‘7-9 bullshit’. He followed that up by getting shutout in the first week of the season.
As if that wasn’t enough drama for Hollywood’s new NFL team, the plot thickened on Thursday. After the 28-0 blowout loss to the 49ers, Fisher has been given a three-year contract extension.
So, in honor of Fisher getting a three-year contract extension, let’s re-live what has been the highlight of the Rams first season back in Los Angeles.
I’just saying, getting a contract extension after failing to score a single point is the very definition of ‘7-9 bulllshit’. Actually it’s not; that’s taking being horrible to a whole new level.
Never change, Jeff Fisher. If the Rams have anything to say about it, we won’t have to worry about that for at least the next three years.
